On 25th May 2021, The ASEAN Retail Chains & Franchise Federation with its subdivision- Women Entrepreneur Bureau conducted a talk that echoes with business owners, especially those looking forward to expand their business to the ASEAN level.
Following this opportunity, Wholistic Family Association also came in collaboration to provide the public free seatings to join the talk. This was under our Aid & Support initiatives that encourages entrepreneurs to develop themselves as better business owners by empowering themselves with vital knowledge to upscale their business.
The speaker, Ms Esther Ong as the chairperson of the Women Entrepreneur Bureau, informed participants about the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) that serves as an important agreement between the ASEAN countries to protect our market.
In summary, the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) Agreement is an agreement to broaden and deepen ASEAN’s engagement with Australia, China, Japan, Korea and New Zealand. Together, these RCEP participating countries account for about 30% of the global GDP and 30% of the world population.
The objective of the RCEP Agreement is to establish a modern, comprehensive, high-quality, and mutually beneficial economic partnership that will facilitate the expansion of regional trade and investment and contribute to global economic
growth and development.
Accordingly, it will bring about market and employment opportunities to businesses and people in the region. The RCEP Agreement will work alongside and support an open, inclusive, and rules-based multilateral trading system.
The Wholistic Family Association is honoured to be included in such an educational talk which gives room for our entrepreneurs to grow wholistically for the benefit of our country’s economy. That being said, WFA will continue to engage such highly beneficial platform to aid in public awareness.
